Nike Material Developer II - Global Apparel Palette Management in Beaverton, Oregon

This position is based at our exceptionally beautiful campus in Beaverton, Oregon!

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for an innovative and curious Material Developer with a passion for materials. The candidate will use their technical materials knowledge, critical thinking and collaborative skills to deliver creative material solutions to our partners through palette management. Strong skills in textile and data analytics, as well as an understanding of the product creation process will ensure delivery of exceptional products for our athletes*!

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

In this position, you will explore analyzing apparel material palette from data analysis, technical evaluation, and palette material development. This work will enable the collaboration with our material development and functional partners to deliver on the highest level of athlete* experience with a commercialized materials palette grounded in our key sustainability goals. You will drive palette material development and palette consolidation in partnership with our GLAM development, vendors, and material supply chain functions to drive product excellence.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

This is the Nike matrix: You will report into the Global Apparel Materials Team (GLAM) and support our partners within Apparel including key collaborations with GLAM Development, GLAM Ops, Product Design, Product Merchandising, Technical Development, Sourcing and Manufacturing. You will need to work effectively within the materials team to ensure optimal palette development and management to drive efficiency for NIKE.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Textile Science, Apparel, or a related field, or any acceptable combination of education, experience, and training

  • We need a minimum of 1 year of experience of an apparel product creation role or similar proven experience

  • Technical materials knowledge, including yarns, knitting, weaving, dyeing, printing, and finishing techniques

  • Experience partnering with vendors to develop and test a material from inception to production

  • Strong verbal, presentation and written communications skills

  • Digital literacy, including Microsoft office software and Product Data Management

  • Experience leading multiple projects with competing resources and time targets across multiple seasons

  • Strong information seeking-skills and a drive for results

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse group

  • Ability to network and apply internal and external resources

  • Experience working with performance materials is highly desired

  • Knowledge of industry material trends

  • Ability to travel up to approximately 10% of the time
