TEKsystems Business Intelligence Engineer in Beaverton, Oregon

Description:

As a Visualization Developer, you'll partner with our Engineering, BI, Product, and Data Science teams to create data compelling, actionable visualizations that support delivering exception products to our customers. You’ll help drive strategy to build a sustainable reporting architecture in a big data environment. You will work cross-functionally with a variety of teams to iteratively deliver creative solutions to challenging data problems. You will lead development of the approach or solution used to solve real world reporting or analytics challenges.

This position requires a self-motivated individual with exceptional technical and analytical skills, high detail-orientation, and excellent written and verbal communication. This individual will be well versed in visualization and dashboarding best practices. They will be able to translate complex user requirements into front-end tools that are simple, scalable and answer business questions. They understand that we build solutions for our customers and they sweat the details of UX and a great UI to support that. They will investigate multiple avenues to answer business questions with data and exhibit the ability to provide multiple options for execution, weighing benefits and tradeoffs. They will present their designs to the team and after iterating through them, present the final product to the customer. They will solicit feedback, incorporate ideas, and be able to guide the team through effective visual design by promoting best practices and a solid user experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Partner with cross-functional teams and leadership to understand key metrics and drivers and provide visibility, specifically highlighting trends and gaps to plan and forecasts

• Conduct work using relevant visualization and best practices, tools, processes, and metrics

• Collaborate with leads and project team to understand the translation of business goals into quantitative goals and metrics and identify opportunities to advance the business through data-driven decision-making

• Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to iterate on the design and implementation of data visualization products

• Develop robust tableau visualizations targeted for the right audience, supporting executives, analysts, stores, and ad-hoc users

• Update existing tableau dashboards to enhance functionality, implement new features, and resolve defects

• Aid in prototyping solutions, delivering recommendations and presentations, integrating user feedback, and participating in collaborative work sessions or workshops

• Develop tableau visualizations that support the larger project goals and initiatives - often times utilizing SQL to gather large amounts of data for visualizations

• Create and maintain all relevant documentation related data elements, KPIs, KDEs used in your visualizations

• Develop a practice of user-centered design

• Keep current on data visualization technology and best practices

• Act as change agent and evangelist to influence the adoption of data visualization best practices within internal & external business analytics team
