MICROWAVE/RF MEASUREMENT ENGINEER

Resonant Sciences LLC has an immediate opening for a Microwave/RF Measurement Engineer to join our Dayton, Ohio team. The position provides an opportunity to join a fast-paced elite team whose primary mission is to support our Nation's War Fighters. The candidate for this position shall be a self-starter who can work independently, unsupervised, and with little guidance. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

We are looking for a Microwave/RF Measurement Engineer with experience in microwave measurement and characterization of electromagnetic materials and structures.  This experience would consist of (1) a theoretical understanding of such electromagnetic materials and structures, (2) a practical understanding of the execution of high-quality laboratory measurements, and (3) detailed experience in the design and implementation of the relevant measurement systems and devices/materials. The primary tasks of this role will involve material measurements, measurement system design and implementation, program management, customer interaction and support, as well as the direction of technicians and junior engineers. You will be required to work closely with all stakeholders in various departments; therefore, strong interpersonal skills are a necessity. We expect the chosen candidate to be hands-on in our labs and production floor working with our technicians.  The ideal candidate should have understanding or familiarity with most or all of the following or an interest in learning:

  • Perform and/or direct the collection of high-quality electromagnetic materials and structures (circuits, waveguides, antennas, etc.) measurements.
  • Design measurement systems for the electromagnetic characterization of materials and structures.
  • Perform intrinsic material property extractions on a wide array of target materials.
  • Design materials and structures for electromagnetic applications.
  • Develop and write data reports and system software and hardware manuals.
  • Consult with stakeholders in other departments to facilitate moving material and measurement system technologies from design and development to production and delivery.
  • Communicate technical concepts and results to external and internal customers to influence company/program decisions.
  • Provide technical guidance in the development of new technologies for materials, measurements, and systems.
  • Perform other duties, assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor's degree (Master's or Doctorate preferred) from an accredited institution with a concentration in a relevant Engineering or Physical Sciences discipline.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in the microwave/electromagnetic characterization and measurement of materials and structures.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in the design of materials and structures for microwave/electromagnetic applications.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in the design of measurement systems for the characterization of microwave/electromagnetic materials and structures.
  • Experience in writing reports, manuals, and proposals.
  • A desire to work in a fast-paced work environment with a motivated team that prides itself on its attention to detail, agility, and ability to execute.

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to be a team player.
