Generac Power Systems Operations Engineering Rotational Program in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin

The Operations Engineering Development Program is a rewarding two or three-year program consisting of at least two fast paced assignments. This program will give participants the opportunity to learn about Operations, Continuous Improvement, Strategic Planning, Project Management, and Quality Systems and will provide a wide variety of development opportunities. The development assignments may include: Industrial Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer, Reliability Engineer, CI Engineer, Controls Engineer, Quality Engineer, and Production Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engineered solutions to solve complex process issues and will develop, document, and implement standard work to safely produce high quality products.

  • Responsible for line support, area layouts, process definition, equipment justification, selection, and implementation. Process creation and standard work documentation activities to support manufacturing operations.

  • Ensure that suppliers meet quality expectations and while planning, coordinating, and executing the incoming inspection, quarantine and disposition of product. Work closely with cross-function teams to keep product flowing successfully.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering

  • Completed at least one internship or co-op program in manufacturing, engineering, supply chain management, or related business experience.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Preferred majors include Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Process Engineering

  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with people at all levels of the organization.

  • Proficiency in CAD

  • Knowledge of lean principles and process improvement

  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to successfully manage shifting deadlines and priorities

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Ability to relocate to various Generac locations during & on completion of the program.

  • Ability to travel around to various manufacturing plants and communicate with both manufacturing teams and engineering on best practices as well work with team members to solve critical manufacturing business problems.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
