A Pharmacy Technician in our Home Delivery Call Center provides distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the registered pharmacist in the ambulatory/outpatient setting. Caregivers will play a critical role to provide direct access of pharmacy care for Family Health Centers that do not currently have an outpatient pharmacy center onsite. Caregivers will have the opportunity of vertical growth towards positions such as Lead and Assistant Manager. This position also offers caregivers the opportunity towards our CCF Enterprise, Pharmacy Enterprise, and CCAC Pharmacy leadership initiatives.

This is a hybrid role, split time between working from home and working on-site between buildings 4 and 5 at CCAC campus. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7am to 6pm. No weekends or holidays.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the pharmacist in an ambulatory/outpatient setting.

• Prepare prescription orders for dispensing to patients.

• Maintain inventory for the outpatient pharmacy.

• Assist with extemporaneous compounding of prescriptions and bulk compounding of prescriptions and over the counter items.

• Operate the point-of-sale cash register system.

• Monitor and act on reorder points, restock prescription and non-prescription area and remove expiring products.

• Provide multi-pharmacy support in assigned areas as needed.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• A high school diploma or GED

• Upon hire, you must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA)

• Upon hire, it is required to hold an active registration through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) as either a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacy Technician Trainee

• Caregivers with active Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Registered Pharmacy Technician registrations are required to update their registration to a Certified Pharmacy Technician registration with the OBOP within 6 months

• Can perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: ​

• Six months of hospital experience

• Have direct/visual care and patient service skills

• Have outpatient pharmacy experience and workflow knowledge

• Can thrive in a hardworking, teambuilding environment

• Can handle stressful situations
