DIRECTOR, SAFEY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND SECURITY (SHES) The Director, Safety, Health, Environment and Security (SHES) is responsible to lead the execution of Austin Powder's U.S. and Canadian safety management systems and programs. Responsibility to ensure compliance and security standards and procedures consistent with corporate needs within its 60 company field operations of approximately 800 employees. The Director, SHES works in conjunction with global SHES leadership, field locations and manufacturing sites (USN, Red Diamond, Satellite and Brownsville for Crisis Management coordination within their assigned geography. Demonstrates strong leadership skills, works well in a team environment, directly manages safety team at Corporate and field; with a strong dotted line to SHES manufacturing. Demonstrates excellent communication skills and strives to enrich the Company's safety culture, Mission, Vision and Values. The Director, SHES reports directly to the Director of Corporate Operations and maintains proactive, frequent and open communication; this role has dotted line reporting to global SHES. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safety and Compliance Management Proactively plan, direct and implement the Company's safety management system to ensure a safe, environmentally responsible, healthy and accident-free work environment. Create and communicate a clear roadmap of the safety management system and goals for U.S. and Canadian business. Establish and monitor key performance metrics to measure performance and to evaluate SHES program effectiveness. Supports leaders with Federal, State and company compliance and leads improvement initiatives. Set and oversee the Field Safety Managers goals and objectives. Along with the Field Safety Managers, provide recommendations and assistance to LLC and corporate management with respect to safety improvement plans, job site hazards, employee training, new/safe equipment operation. Ensure compliance of company operations to all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, along with Company policies. Work directly with Global SHES Director to standardize SHES programs and key performance metrics. Remain current on industry safety regulations. Keep management advised of new or revised regulations and their projected impact. Ensure SHES regulatory reporting requirements and internal reporting needs are met. (MSHA, EPA Sara Title III, NR Can E2, OSHA 300, Global SHEs, etc.). Oversee the development and implementation of Intelex, the Company's SHES software system. Review new pre-qualification documentation to ensure contractors have an acceptable safety record and communicate with Field Safety Managers, Risk Manager and Field Management of their acceptance or rejection. Manage hazardous materials control program. Work with 3rd party services to address spills, decontamination procedures, and environmental studies. Monitor environmental compliance for facility wastewater, storm water management, spill prevention, control and countermeasure and other environmental related issues. Drive the definition and implementation of initiatives to minimize the environmental impact of AP operations, including but not limited to optimize energy and water consumption, minimize waste and emissions. Security Manage the development and implementation of our DOT security plan and ATF security policy, guidelines and procedures to ensure ongoing security of physical sites and assets. Physical protection includes key security, access and intrusion monitoring systems, internal security checks and independent security audits. Responsible for the oversight of Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Participates in vulnerability assessments, internal and external security inspections. Oversee the incident response planning as well as the investigation of security breaches.
