Kelly Services Maintenance Technian piping and centrifuge in Baytown, Texas

Maintenance Technicians needed in Pasadena/Baytown

Work for a National Water Technology Solutions Corporation

These temp to hire opportunities have a guaranteed 40 hour week with overtime as needed

Starting pay is based on experience $20-30 hr

Must be able to perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain all mobile and facility equipment. The role is to ensure that all equipment is running smoothly and the plant is able to meet customer demand with minimal downtime. Activities will include, but are not limited to, closing work orders, performing preventive maintenance inspections, all while maintaining a high standard to safety and getting the job done timely and correctly. This position does require being on call as needed to perform any emergency work that may come in on off shift hours.

Key Characteristics

• Strong communication skills to work with production teams and leads

• Ability to retain training and information on the different types of equipment

• Self-motivated and able to perform with minimal supervision and different challenges

• Strong knowledge of hand and power tools and measurement

• Sch 80 PVC piping

Duties & Responsibilities

• Acts as a resource in the diagnosis of malfunctioning machinery, installation of new equipment and systems and general repairs

• Performs maintenance jobs and repairs around plant production teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations of all equipment

• Work with the Lead to ensure timely close out of all scheduled Preventive Maintenance tasks and work orders

• Ability to identify parts and materials needed for repairs and upcoming jobs to ensure they are available and in stock

• Keeps up with plant housekeeping and all safety standards and trainings. Able to identify and report safety concerns and issues and follow all safety related procedures

• Able to quickly and safely troubleshoot an issue and resolve a problem to return equipment back into service

• Available to be on call for plant or equipment emergencies to keep the facility running with minimal downtime

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Required

• High School Diploma, G.E.D., Home School Certification, or international equivalent to High School Diploma

• Valid driver’s License

• Use of hand and power tools – ability to read a tape measure

• Able to do elevated work and confined space activities

• PVC Pipe Fitting skills

• Able to lift 50lbs

Preferred

• 2 years of mechanical maintenance experience in industrial, refineries, water treatment or chemical plants

• Knowledge of air and centrifugal pump repairs

• Forklift experience.

• Welding - steel

Working Conditions Ability and willingness to perform physical duties such as lifting, climbing

• Working with and around chemicals

• Ability and willingness for on call status for emergency response

• We have plant based positions and travel (40%) based positions
