Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Mechanical Specialist to join our team! In this role you will ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on pump, motors, blowers, conveyor systems, and production machines. The ideal candidate will maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and establishing personal networks.

Duties

• Performs preventative maintenance on lift stations and plant equipment on a defined interval/schedule and documents maintenance concerns/resolutions in an electronic City database; providing action plans and status reports as needed.

• Maintains equipment, parts, tools, and supply inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.

• Repairs, maintains, and rebuilds small pumps, motors, blowers, gearboxes, and other mechanical equipment.

• Ability to read and follow blueprints, diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.

• Performs electrical maintenance (110-220v), welding/fitting, general mechanic work, millwright, oil changes, and general custodial duties including mowing and trimming lawns.

• Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (must obtain TX driver's license within 90 days).

• Must obtain TCEQ Grade “C” wastewater certificate in two (2) years from date in position.

• Two (2) years of related experience.

Preferred:

• Specialized training in industrial pumps, motors, and/or electricity.

• Two (2) years of direct experience repairing pumps, blowers, and/or motors.

• Millwright certification.

• Valid CDL driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (must obtain TX driver's license within 90 days).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of industrial electricity and machinery. Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude. Ability to read electrical schematics, engineering blueprints, and equipment service manuals. Ability to get along appropriately with co-workers and the public.
