Job Title: Food Processing Production Mechanic

Job Description

The Food Processing Production Mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and providing preventive maintenance on various equipment, machines, and facility as needed. This role requires expertise in mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems within a food processing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain basic industrial electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.

  • Perform repairs as needed and report equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to a supervisor if unable to correct.

  • Follow lockout/tagout safety procedures during service and repair.

  • Use personal protective equipment as required.

  • Comply with the rules and regulations set forth in the employee handbook, safety manual, and the GMP booklet.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical troubleshooting and repair

  • Electrical troubleshooting and repair

  • Hydraulics and pneumatics

  • Preventive maintenance

  • Welding

  • Blueprint reading

  • Food processing machine experience

  • Experience with steam and water machines

  • PLC troubleshooting

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to follow lockout/tagout safety procedures

  • Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards

  • Experience in a food processing or food production environment
