Job Information
County of Pamlico Animal Control Officer (Part-time) in Bayboro, North Carolina
- 19 hours per week.
- Assists in the Animal/Rabies Control Program by performing protective, preventive, and investigative work enforcing animal control laws and regulations within the county.
- Reports to the County Manager.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Working knowledge of public health rabies control laws.
- Working knowledge of animal collection and disposal methods.
- Working knowledge of laws and regulations relating to animal control.
- Ability to read, interpret and explain rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Skill in use of physical means, firearms, tranquilizer guns and toxic chemicals used in capturing and destroying animals.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High school degree and one year of experience as an animal control officer, security officer, or related law enforcement role; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver's License.
