Today, we are a leading not-for-profit agency employing 1200+ staff and providing over 70 program sites in Nassau and Suffolk. We are currently seeking a few exceptional people who have a passion to make a meaningful impact by facilitating the lives of the amazing people we support.

The Children’s Services of ACLD provides a continuum of services to children from ages three to twenty-one in their pre-school and after-school programs. We currently have an opportunity for an Assistant Principal to join our Bay Shore Facility. In this role, you will are expected to spend most of your time, energy and talents focused on the quality of education/clinical services being offered. Instructional leaders are visible, regularly observing and providing coaching/feedback towards maintenance/management of a culture conducive to maximizing the growth of children, families, and staff that is consistent with ACLD Children’s Services vision, mission, goals and instructional initiatives.

We require:

  • Masters Degree in Special Education or related services area.

  • NYS Certification as School Administrator/Supervisor or School District Administrator.

  • Minimum of 3 years experience working with children in Early Childhood Special Education or related service areas.

  • Preferably at least 3 years of experience in a Special Education leadership position (ex: Principal, Asst. Principal, Department/Team Leader)

  • Obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR and all required OCFS/NYSED trainings, in addition to maintaining validation of credentials for the position. .

  • Previous responsibility for building maintenance, program evaluation, employee engagement and management, office operations, and emergency procedures.

Full Time - 35 hours, Mon-Fri 8a-3:30p
