Job Description:

This position provides leadership and support to patient access staff in designated department(s). Assists manager in maintaining optimal staffing models based on volumes and monitors quality and productivity. Exhibits and promotes the Essentia Health customer service philosophy to ensure patients and visitors receive exceptional service. Provides feedback and coaching to staff as necessary and assists with the development of training programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides information to, and maintains relationships with external and internal providers, nursing staff, operation managers, front office staff, and customers to provide coordinated services.

• Stays current with clinical, provider, registration and scheduling information related to the serviced departments.

• Assists in maintaining scheduling protocols for many different Essentia Health departments.

• Assists in monitoring all work queues to ensure timely and quality patient care.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous leadership experience

Education Qualifications:

Associates degree or at least 64 credits completed towards BA, BA must be completed within three years of hire or transfer. (New hires as of 10/1/2021, must have an AA degree obtained within two years of hire or transfer)

Certification/Licensure Requirements:

  • Completion of Healthcare Business Insight’s (HBI) Patient Access Certification Program within one year of hire date
