Grace Health Health Information Analyst & Training Coordinator in Battle Creek, Michigan

Grace Health is looking for a candidate who utilizes knowledge of Health Information regulations, processes, and systems for, analyzing, auditing, developing, and training within and outside the Health Information department. This person would also provide support for the Health Information department. We offer competitive wages based on experience and up to 3 weeks of PTO in the first year! 1) Performs audits and analysis for the Health Information Department.

a) Monitors and reports productivity and timeliness for health information staff and responsibilities.

b) Performs audits and reports on work performed by health information staff.

c) Generates and monitors lists and reports in information systems used by health information.

d) Performs and reports audits for Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation as requested.

e) Assists with coordination for external audits of health information as requested.

2) Assists with the development, implementation, and maintenance of processes and procedures related to the Health Information Department.

a) Independently identifies and recommends opportunities for process improvements.

b) Leads or participates in meetings and/or process improvement initiatives for new and existing processes.

c) Assists with the development and maintenance of health information policies, procedures, and standard processes.

3) Coordinates or performs training related to the Health Information Department.

a) Independently creates and maintains training materials and resources for health information.

b) Assesses current understanding of health information processes, identifies any additional information users may require, and provides education to ensure users are proficient in health information processes.

c) Provides and/or coordinates and communicates training activities for new and existing department staff.

d) Recommends and works with management to develop training paths for new and existing staff to ensure departmental coverage.

e) Provides training for processes related to health information for other departments or external vendors as requested.

4) Serves as a health information department resource and develops staff assignment schedule.

a) Demonstrates knowledge of regulatory requirements for health information, release of information, and medical records access.

b) Demonstrates working knowledge of clinic and business operations and procedures, especially as they intersect with health information processes.

c) Provides coverage for Health Information Specialist responsibilities in the department as needed.

d) Independently creates, maintains, and communicates the department's assignment schedule within guidelines set forth by management.

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred; health information degree focus preferred

  • Minimum of two years of medical records, health information, health care, or related experience; experience in word processing, spreadsheets, and training coordination preferred
