As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as an Education Consultant 1 , 2 or 3 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant.
These positions have a Special Entrance Rate (SER) as follows:
Education Consultant 2 (AS-617)
Hourly: $27.07 - $44.18
Monthly: $4,692 - $7,658
Annually: $56,306 - $91,894
Education Consultant 3 (AS-618)
Hourly: $28.97 - $47.27
Monthly: $5,021 - $8,194
Annually: $60,248 - $98,322
** Note regarding the advertised pay range : The Education Consultant series have a special entrance rate that is above the minimum hire rate for these positions. The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make over their career and not the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire .

Job Focus Area:
This position advises leadership in the Office of Career and College Readiness on policies and procedures related to supporting the success of students exiting high school to postsecondary institutions or on a career pathway. This person will also focus on recommending programmatic policy directives and procedural guidelines for school systems providing graduates a head start on their path to fulfilling work through access to employer-valued credentials, work-based learning credentials, work-based learning
experiences, opportunities to develop soft and career skills, and support of postsecondary transition services.
Applicants who possess the following skills and experience are encouraged to apply:
Extensive experience with dual enrollment; leadership experience in navigating between agencies and/or organizations; experience building and/or expanding early access programs; and experience building and/or expanding CTE programs.

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Five years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience plus two years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR
A bachelor's degree plus two years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR
An advanced degree plus one year of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services.

Assists with development and implementation of all aspects of an educational program affecting populations such as students, teachers, principals, central office personnel, and ancillary/support personnel in the public school systems, special schools, nonpublic schools, public and private colleges and universities, technical colleges, local neglected and delinquent institutions, and state correctional institutions; and individuals from other profit and nonprofit agencies, organizations, and institutions.
Assists in determining program goals and objectives and in the development of plans to effectively implement the specified program.
Assists research, design, implementation, and evaluation of current and long-range plans, rules, regulations, guidelines, and policies in accordance with federal or state laws and policies within a limited group of related programs within a division.
Assists in the design, development, and researching of projects on the basis of national/state reports, trends, economic conditions, future needs, educational research findings, and state and federal legislative or policy developments.
Assists schools and school systems in securing the best possible results for their efforts by building the capacity of school and system teams.
Assists in the development of evaluation designs to measure the quality and effectiveness of program(s) and their impact on students.
Assists in the planning, conducting, and evaluation of staff development and in-service training (including national, state, and regional workshops, hearings, conferences) for personnel in the Department of Education, local education agencies, colleges and universities, technical colleges, correctional schools and institutions, as well as churches, civil associations, business and industry groups, special committees and task forces, professional associations and organizations, special interest groups, parents, and other citizens.
Assists in providing technical assistance to local superintendents of education, other educators, and other persons outside the field of education on programs, policies, procedures, laws, and regulations; and answers questions and assists in the resolution of problems.
