Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) seeks to fill the position of Director, Healthcare Initiatives and Community Outreach. The Director, Healthcare Initiatives and Community Outreach is located in the Nursing and Allied Health Division. This is a full-time position.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Health Science or Allied Health
Required Experience:
- Possess a minimum of three years of experience in healthcare or academic leadership
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional design, and educational best practices.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse academic environment.
Experience with budget management and resource allocation.
Familiarity with strategic plans and assessment.
Ethical/ legal principles and professionalism in the healthcare industry.

Job Concepts
Director of Healthcare Initiatives and Community Outreach will lead and manage the short-term healthcare initiatives and community outreach. This position will collaborate with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders to develop, implement and oversee a variety of programs aimed at enhancing student experiences that align with division and institutional strategic goals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in higher education leadership, program management and community outreach with a deep understanding of the challenges facing the community served.
25% Healthcare Initiatives and Project Management
Lead the planning, execution and evaluation of special healthcare projects (e.g., dual enrollment, faculty training programs, summer camps, campus visits.)
Collaborate with faculty, academic departments and interdisciplinary teams to develop and deliver programs that enhance student learning and success.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and meet institutional goals.
20% Outreach and Support:
Represent the division in academic and professional organizations, conferences, and public events.
Develop and maintain partnerships with academic institutions, industry leaders, and community organizations to foster collaboration
Advocate for the healthcare programs at local and national levels, ensuring they address student needs and foster diversity and inclusivity.
15% Strategic Planning:
Contribute to the development of annual goals for the nursing and allied health division, ensuring healthcare initiatives align with the institution’s strategic plan.
Monitor emerging trends to ensure healthcare programs remain relevant, competitive and impactful
10% Reporting and Analysis
Develop and implement strategies to assess and monitor the effectiveness of healthcare initiative programs ensuring alignment with standards and institutional objectives.
Regularly report on progress, including updates to stakeholders and funders.
Analyze data to ensure initiatives remain aligned with goals and make recommendations for improvements.
Track the impact and report on the progress of healthcare initiatives for internal and external stakeholders.
15% Leadership and Collaboration
Lead and manage interdisciplinary teams to coordinate initiatives across departments, fostering collaboration and innovation.
Mentor and provide professional development opportunities for faculty and students involved in healthcare initiatives.
Oversee healthcare student organization teams that focus on community outreach and initiatives, ensuring they align with division goals.
10% Grant Writing and Fundraising
Provide leadership in the preparation of grant proposals, budget planning, and resource allocation to support healthcare initiatives.
Identify funding opportunities and manage grants for healthcare and community outreach programs.
Ensure funds are effectively allocated and used to support strategic initiatives.
5% Other duties as assigned
