Description

We are looking for a meticulous Accounts Payable Specialist for our client in based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the administrative and clerical needs of the AP/Finance Department, ensuring daily processes and controls are executed accurately and in a timely manner. This role offers a short-term contract to full time employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Handle the administrative and clerical needs of the AP/Finance Department

• Execute daily processes and controls accurately and in a timely manner

• Provide customer service to internal business partners

• Assist in internal and external audits as required

• Open, sort and distribute daily department mail

• Sort, log, photocopy, and file invoices, checks, and other documents

• Verify, log and mail checks, including expediting special handling

• Use Accounting Software Systems, Great Plains (GPAC), IBM AS/400, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, and Microsoft Excel for various accounting functions

• Perform check processing and data entry tasks

• Resolve any discrepancy in accounts payable

Requirements

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required

• Familiarity with Great Plains (GPAC) is a must

• Experience with IBM AS/400 is crucial for this position

• Skills in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne are necessary

• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel is essential

• Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting Functions is required

• Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP) is needed

• Check Processing skills are a must for this role

• Proficiency in Data Entry is crucial

• Ability to handle and resolve Discrepancies is necessary
