Overview

The Product Manager is a pivotal role responsible for leading the development and execution of strategies to enhance the product lifecycle of a wide range of banking products. This includes residential and consumer loan products, commercial deposit products, and associated cash management services. This role will be instrumental in designing and developing new products, overseeing the success of existing products, managing online loan application systems, and loan origination systems. This role aims to align product offerings with business objectives, thereby increasing market share, customer acquisition, retention, and overall profitability. A deep understanding of product economics, the ability to implement strategic pricing, and the agility to anticipate and meet changing customer needs are essential. Operational excellence, leveraging customer data for business intelligence, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations are key responsibilities.

This position can be based at these locations and will have a flexible, hybrid schedule. Our locations include: Corporate Headquarters office in Ithaca, New York, Batavia, New York, Brewster, New York, and Wyomissing, Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive product strategies, enhancing competitiveness and profitability.

  • Oversee the design and implementation of residential, consumer loan products, commercial deposit products, and cash management services, ensuring they meet customer segment needs.

  • Develop, recommend, and execute pricing strategies to achieve business development and profitability objectives.

  • Manage the customer lifecycle, including origination, cross-selling, retention, and win-back strategies.

  • Interface actively with compliance areas to manage product compliance and risk effectively.

  • Lead cross-functional project teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring project success.

  • Develop marketing, cross-sell, and product strategies in collaboration with business groups to achieve business goals.

  • Utilize reporting and data to guide business and operational decisions, improve production, turn times, and enhance customer experience.

  • Conduct market research to inform business strategies, product decisions, and competitive positioning.

  • Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations, including Fair Lending Practices, Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in product management and project management, preferably within the banking sector.

  • Specialized training in managing customer data systems and financial analysis.

  • Strong analytical, financial, and marketing skills.

  • Proven ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams towards achieving business objectives.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the capacity to motivate and encourage teams.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time efficiently.

  • Knowledge of retail, residential loan origination systems, and commercial deposit products is highly desired.

  • Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
