Summary

This position will serve as the Procurement lead for R&D Procurement Project and Change Management initiatives. This includes strategically leading, overseeing and prioritizing business initiatives which will include collaborating with all required departments to ensure alignment and communication, in line with organization strategic priorities. This role will work closely with project teams to ensure that changes are smoothly and successfully implemented to achieve lasting benefits. Role will also own the road map, oversight and change management of the entire portfolio of special project. Position will also play a key leadership role in support of all processes and procedures around change management. This role requires comfort and independence in leading complex initiatives of high dollar value from inception through to implementation and ability to handle global projects through established interactions with Japan and Europe as required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Head of Global RD Procurement as Procurement subject-matter expert for change management and communication for large global strategic projects.

  • Develop and implement change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and minimize resistance.

  • Conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness, and identify key stakeholders

  • Establish metrics to measure the effectiveness of change initiatives.

  • Monitor progress and report on the status of change management efforts.

  • Identify and address any issues or obstacles that may arise during the change process

  • Keep informed of industry trends and newsworthy happenings, company product pipeline progress, and overall market position of the Company in order to provide meaningful support to Sr. Leadership

- Project Leadership and Collaboration

  • Responsible for the development and management of ad hoc special projects as they arise

  • Develop the entire road map of all projects (minimum 12-18 month view) lead by Global RD Procurement function.

  • Develop timelines, KPI’s, deliverables by project with detailed action level to ensure on time completion.

  • Develop and own the cadence for reporting on KPIs: Develop the report and communication channel.

  • Act as the lead to coordinate and be accountable for the delivery of said projects, this includes working closely with the other team members also assigned to these projects.

  • Create the resourcing plan for each project and report it to the Global RD Procurement LT in a concise and clear way so that resourcing issues/constraints can be clearly managed by LT.

  • Display cross-divisional leadership by enhancing reporting clarity and communication of key information among groups

- Global Business Partnering and stakeholder engagement

  • Maintain strong global relationship with colleagues across organization, stakeholders and finance included

  • Provide leadership, guidance and support to RD Procurement team as we continue to enhance our procurement capabilities in Japan.

  • Control and ensure collaboration with all relevant functions to focus on the achievement of the key procurement and business objectives.

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and ensure their involvement and support.

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure they are informed and engaged throughout the change process.

  • Coaches, mentors and trains colleagues, and provides backup support as needed within the department. Persuades and influences Sr. leadership and internal stakeholders.

- Ensuring adherence with policies and procedures

  • Continuously assess and improve change management processes and methodologies.

  • Stay up to date with industry best practices and incorporate them into the organization’s change management framework.

  • Identify, develop and drive new processes, procedures and/or system enhancements to improve organizational efficiencies and cost controls while ensuring accuracy and controls are not compromised.

Education Qualifications (from an accredited college or university)

  • Bachelor's Degree Business, Communications or Project management required

  • Master's Degree preferred

Experience Qualifications

  • 10 or More Years Procurement Sr level experience required

  • Pharmaceutical experience required

  • Demonstrated people leadership skills required

  • Experience working within a Japan business environment. Bilingual a plus. preferred

Travel

Ability to travel up to 10%. Business meetings and/or conferences as necessary
