Responsibilities:

• Assist new employees

• Continue work hardening and all other training necessary to prepare the trainee for positions

• Assist supervisor in following and documenting a training program

• Learn to operate all machines and scales in the department

• Provide new employees with exemplary work behavior including attendance, safety, and personal hygiene

• Administer directions for the proper care and use of PPE'S

• Communicate to the supervisor as to the progress of the employees

• Perform any additional tasks or responsibilities as required

• Help with coverage in the absence of the supervisor

• Assist supervisor in daily operations, floor coverage, running through breaks, and running equipment as needed

• *Ability to work with pork products**

Minimum Qualifications:

• Good organizational skills

• Ability to learn and do all jobs in the department

• Good verbal and written communication skills/Ability to speak and write English

• Complete knowledge of machine safety procedures and operations

• Good work history

• Ability to work with minimum supervision

• Ability to obtain forklift, rider jack, PV3R, and hand jack license

• Basic math skills

• No performance work actions in the last 6 months

• No attendance work actions in the last 6 months

• PHYSICAL: No restrictions lifting 50 pounds

• No restrictions pushing 500 pound v-mags

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience on a department safety committee

• Six months experience in the department or equivalent training

• Basic computer skills

• Excellent problem solving skills and public speaking ability
