As the Shipping Coordinator, you will oversee and coordinate all shipping activities, including domestic and international shipments, rail car movements, and training records management. You will need to have meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective communication with other teams and external carriers to ensure compliance with regulations and timely delivery of products. This is a first shift Monday through Friday opportunity working onsite at our Barberton, OH plant. You will report to the Department Supervisor. Main Responsibilities: Optical Shipping Coordination: Schedule an average of 65+ domestic and international shipments per month Ensure accurate and timely communication with carriers regarding pick-up dates and shipment details Be the primary contact for carriers, ensuring shipping OTIF performance Documentation Management: Print and verify Bill of Lading (BOL) for accuracy before sending to carriers Compile and prepare a comprehensive packet of paperwork for Distribution Operators Maintain up-to-date documentation Create a Trucks sheet for distribution operators and guards to inform them of incoming shipments Create address labels for shipments SAP and Oracle Management: Obtain lot numbers from different supervisors and ensure the correct lot is selected in SAP Pick and load shipments in SAP for orders placed directly into containers Enter shipment information into SAP and close/PGI shipments once they leave the plant Upload SOLAS paperwork into Oracle for compliance tracking Rail Car Management: Coordinate rail car movements and provide the local railway with car moves for the entire plant Create Railcar Return Forms for empty (residue last contained) cars and provide Railcar Inspection Cards (RIC) and seals to operators. Maintain an updated report of railcar locations and track car moves in a logbook and other files for auditing purposes and manage billing for rail cars. Training Coordination: Maintain training records in TRIM for the Optical Department and ensure appropriate files are available for audits Run reports in TRIM to schedule necessary training for personnel and create routine reports and collaborate with supervisors to ensure all operators receive and are credited for training Be the system administrator for TRIM, providing training coordinators with appropriate access for PPG and Contractors Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED is required 1+ years of shipping, order entry, or similar experience Proficiency in SAP and Oracle systems; experience with shipping documentation and compliance Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Knowledge of DOT regulations and shipping compliance is a plus PPG pay ranges and benefits can vary by location which allows us to compensate employees competitively in different geographic markets.
