Join our Team! Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, is currently seeking a full-time (40 hours per week; benefits eligible) Division Manager in the Housing & Energy Department overseeing the Weatherization, Central Heating Improvement Program and Home Repair programs. As the Division Manager you work in concert with the Department management and a team of colleagues to lead the department, integrating a group of programs or activities into a single service delivery system. This is a hybrid position based out of our Bangor office.

Location: Bangor, Maine

Division Manager Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the Weatherization day-to-day operations of the program including, but not limited to: monitor daily operations and delivery of services to the community, managing and monitoring performance of assigned personnel.

  • As a team member, you develop the department’s vision, strategies, and resources.

  • Attend regularly scheduled meetings with Department Director and other Division Managers to receive and provide updates, address needs, and plan.

  • Develop and implement training and skills acquisition opportunities for staff.

  • Assure the timely submission of accurate and complete reports.

  • Meet responsibilities for assigned program(s) and contract(s) including all work plans, regulations, funding source and reporting requirements.

  • Oversight of projects throughout Penobscot, Piscataquis, Knox Counties.

  • Perform other related activities, as required, to assure program/department success.

Division Manager Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, and 5-7 years paid work experience.

  • Three to five years successful experience in a managerial position.

  • Hold Building Analyst, Energy Auditor, other Building Performance Institute certification or other relevant certifications.

  • Previous experience with building inspection, technical specifications, building codes, and project management.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Computer proficiency and experience, including word processing skills.

  • Budget development and monitoring experience.

  • Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.

The starting salary for this position is $62,524 commensurate with experience and qualifications. Those with related education and experience are encouraged to apply.
