nVent Assistant Manager Simulation in Bangalore, Indiana

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

  • Designing and analyzing advanced cooling systems (air/liquid etc), including various sub-systems such as heat exchangers, fans, and pumps.

  • Translate product requirements into complete technical solutions that satisfy challenging business, design, and schedule requirements.

  • Working closely with CAD designers, and mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineers to develop a refined product, that meets customer specifications and guidelines.

  • Conducting comprehensive thermal analysis of various sub-systems, to identify areas for improvement to optimize the products. Ensure efficient and optimized system architecture, working alongside CFD engineers thermal architects, and test engineers.

  • Planning for prototype and creating DOE for thermal testing and validation of systems and sub-systems.

  • Analyzing test data, identify issues, propose new designs, and corrective actions, working along with manufacturing engineers

  • Providing technical leadership and mentorship in the areas of thermal science and fluid mechanics.

  • Collaborating with Engineering Project Leaders and stakeholders to align on tasks’ scope, timelines, objectives, and completion.

  • Drive work independently while managing ambiguity, and be proactive in managing and communicating risk.

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in liquid cooling system designs, via attending various conferences internal and external.

  • Drive innovation through research, development, and implementation of cutting-edge solutions

YOU HAVE:

  • B.E/ B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Masters in Thermal Engineering or related engineering field, with deep understanding of basics of Thermodynamics & Fluid Mechanics

  • 5-10 years’ experience working as a Mechanical or Thermal Engineer out of 4+ years of direct industry experience in a thermal/mechanical design of various HVAC products such as such as Residential/ commercial air conditioners, Commercial Chillers, Rooftops, Air Handlers and Transport Refrigeration. Experience in thermal design of air & liquid cooling systems, electronic cooling is a plus.

  • Experience or working knowledge of various types of heat exchangers including liquid-to-air, liquid-to-liquid etc.

  • Working knowledge of various types of pumps such as centrifugal, turbine, lobe, screw pumps etc.

  • Working knowledge of various types of fans such as axial, centrifugal, backward, and forward curve fans.

  • Experience of using 1D component and system modeling tools such as Coil Designer, VapSyc or any other commercially available tools.

  • Proficiency in using programming tools such as EES, MATLAB, Visual Basic (VBA), or Python for large-set data analysis.

  • Experience in result analysis and using tools such as ANSYS Fluent/ Icepak/ FloTherm/ Thermal Desktop or other similar tools, for analyzing various cooling & heating systems, and able to summarize conclusions is a plus.

  • Proficiency in design using 3D CAD software tools such as SolidWorks/ Creo/ CATIA is a plus etc.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
