University of Maryland Capital Region Health University of Maryland School of Medicine The Program in Trauma at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is currently recruiting a full-time Surgery faculty member at UM Capital Region Health (UMCRH) located in Largo, Maryland. Clinical Responsibilities include trauma, emergency general surgery and surgical critical care. Resident and student education and research are also core components of this position. The trauma center is the 2ndbusiest in the state of Maryland, with a good mix of penetrating and blunt mechanisms of injury. Candidates must be board certified/eligible by the American Board of Surgery with added qualifications in Surgical Critical Care, fellowship training in trauma/surgical critical care, related work experience, and demonstrated commitment toward research. Applicants with surgical critical care experience will be most competitive. This position includes an academic appointment with the University of Maryland School of Medicine. The expected rank for this position will be Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank and tenure status will be commensurate with selected candidate’s experience and training.
