Description

We are providing an opportunity for a Sr. Accountant to join our clients team located in Baltimore, Maryland. The role's primary function involves managing and overseeing various accounting duties, including transactional execution, assistance in the fiscal year-end close progress, and basic footnote presentation. This role offers a contract employment opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Efficiently process and adjust accounting transactions as needed

• Analyze and identify variances in financial data

• Assist in overseeing the fiscal year-end close progress

• Handle the basic footnote presentation applicable to all industries

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data processing and management

• Apply standards in relevant accounting procedures

• Assist with month-end and year-end closings

• Draw reasonable conclusions from limited data and background information

• Act as a problem solver, figuring out challenging accounting scenarios and implementing appropriate solutions

Requirements

• Possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a senior accounting role

• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Familiarity with accounting regulations

• Ability to identify variances and provide suitable explanations for them

• Experience in performing month-end and year-end closings

• Working knowledge of the Workday financial management system

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive financial information
