The Health Solutions business area at Leidos is looking for a Senior-level AWS Systems Administrator to contribute to the Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) program based out of Baltimore, MD .

As Senior AWS System Administrator, you will support daily operations and maintenance of a federal customer network that includes Linux and Windows AWS EC2 instances, S3 storage buckets, Syslog and CloudWatch logging, and other AWS services. You will be responsible for configuring, modifying, and managing Linux & Windows servers, including OS patching and upgrading, that support multiple applications. You will participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure and applications environments. You will ensure that all system and related procedures adhere to organizational values for a federal customer program.

Primary Tasks:

  • Work with system architects, network engineers, system engineers, software developers and database administrators to maintain/build servers and to perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, problem analysis, and resolution of issues as they arise.

  • Participate in all aspects of network and system operations daily, including team meetings and troubleshooting calls.

  • Keep management informed of status and always escalate potential areas of concern.

  • Direct small workgroups and work assigned projects and daily assignments to successful completion.

  • Coordinate with business and technology teams on system/software requirements.

  • Create/update system/software documentation.

  • Research and make suggestions on the deployment of emerging technologies.

Basic Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in a related discipline, with 8+ years of prior relevant professional experience, or a Masters degree with 6+ years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Expert Linux and Windows administration, monitoring, troubleshooting skills, including but not limited to, shell scripting and Nagios Core.

  • Expert knowledge of administering and troubleshooting AWS services including CloudFormation.

  • Expert knowledge of AWS cost efficiency strategies.

  • Demonstrated experience of creating, executing, and troubleshooting Ansible playbooks.

  • Demonstrated experience with Active Directory and Windows Server Local Group Policies.

  • Working knowledge of network protocols.

  • Ability to create/maintain system/software diagrams/documents.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification.

  • Comprehension of Git and Subversion repositories.

  • Comprehension of IPSec site-to-site VPNs.

  • Knowledge of vulnerability scanners and network intrusion prevention devices.

  • Background in evaluating solution alternatives, designing, and communicating recommendations to the program team.

Security Clearance Qualification:

Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00
