Johns Hopkins University Research Program Coordinator in Baltimore, Maryland

We are seeking a Research Program Coordinator to oversee administration of research-related issues and participate in research product development, in support of research faculty on the ComPASS project and other projects specific to populations negatively impacted by the legal system.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all activities of a research study to assure validity of findings. Ensure adherence to protocols.

  • Draft financial reports and updates to NIH.

  • Oversee financial management for research study. Set up database using Excel or a similar system to track expenses and meet quarterly with study PIs (and when appropriate, the JHU Site PI) to review. Send financial reports to community partners.

  • Assist with protocol development and revision of studies: assure protocols, amendments, consent forms, and study operation manuals have complete, consistent language throughout, including proper SAE reporting requirements, coordinating center requirements, etc.

  • Oversee data and record management for research study. Set up database using Excel or a similar system.

  • Develop processes to ensure data collection can occur in an effective and efficient manner.

  • Assist with research team management and organization.

  • Participate in study meetings and provide update on protocol implementation status and make recommendations on operational issues.

  • May design and format findings/papers/publications for dissemination.

  • May assist research team members in writing summaries of papers for release as policy briefs.

  • May assist with social media communications efforts alongside Ms. Snow.

  • Assist PI with abstracts and manuscripts preparation.

  • When needed, recruit, train, and supervise entry-level research data management and regulatory personnel, such as Research Assistants.

  • Assist faculty members with program operations – providing suggestions for improved procedures, creating checklists and program-related Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Assists with study budget and invoice preparation as needed.

  • Participate as requested in research events such as training and orientation for new research staff.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.

  • Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with project management.

  • Experience with research coordination.

  • Experience with grant writing.

  • Experience with communications work.

  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods.

  • Experience in research within the legal system.

  • Experience with online data collection methods (e.g., Qualtrics).

Role/Level/Range: ACRO40/E/03/CD

Starting Salary Range: $17.00 - $30.00 HRLY ($50,000 targeted; Commensurate with experience)

Employee group: Casual / On Call

Schedule: Flexible work schedule (4 days a week/10-hours)
