Job Title: Pipe Fitter
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Pipe Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in running piping through active industrial production facilities, working with various welding systems, and interpreting technical drawings. This role requires flexibility to work in different environments and occasional weekend work.
Responsibilities
Run piping through active industrial production facilities.
Work with butt weld and socket weld systems, up to and including 8” diameter steel pipe.
Interpret plan view and elevation view drawings to understand the project.
Understand P&ID (Process and Instrument Diagrams) and coordinate the installation of valves and instruments as shown on the drawings.
Generate isometric drawings for fabrication in a shop environment for installation in the field, including proper take-offs and cut lengths generated from field measurements, plan view drawings, and P&IDs.
Field route piping where appropriate and required by the client.
Work with welded, threaded, Victaulic piping, carbon, and stainless steel.
Read and understand P&ID and orthogonal drawings.
Disseminate and create isometric drawings.
Experience with various piping materials and systems including Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Fiberglass, PVC, HDPE, and Copper.
Layout pipelines including changes in elevation, direction, and flow.
Install in-line instrumentation, valves, and other appurtenances.
Occasional weekend work required; normal workweek consists of four 10-hour days starting at 6:30 AM.
Work will be split between VA and MD.
Essential Skills
2-5 years of previous experience in pipe fitting, preferably in an industrial environment.
Familiarity with ASME codes and standards.
Familiarity with SMAW, GTAW, and FCAW welding processes.
Ability to work in both clean (food-grade) and dirty (recycling facilities) environments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with Carbon Steel – Threaded, butt weld, socket weld (1/2” thru 24”).
Experience with Stainless Steel – Threaded, butt weld, socket weld (1/2” thru 12”).
Experience with Fiberglass – Butt wrap & socket (4” thru 24”).
Experience with PVC – Socket & SDR-35 (1/2” thru 6”).
Experience with HDPE – Fusion Weld (4” thru 24”).
Experience with Copper – Threaded & Socket (sweat) (1/2” thru 3”).

Work Environment
The role involves working onsite at heavy industrial projects, including new construction for manufacturing plants and heavy mechanical construction. Fitters will be subject to harsh weather conditions, and may occasionally need to shovel snow to access work sites.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baltimore, Maryland.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
