University of Maryland, Baltimore Physician – VA Section Chief Infectious Disease (3-309-1213) in Baltimore, Maryland
The University of Maryland School of Medicine and the Baltimore VA Medical Center are recruiting a physician-scientist as the next Chief of the Infectious Disease Section at the Baltimore VA Medical Center. The Baltimore VAMC is affiliated with the University of Maryland School of Medicine and is located on campus, attached to the University of Maryland Medical Center by a walk-bridge. The Baltimore VAMC is an important training site for University of Maryland medical students, residents, and infectious disease fellows. The Baltimore VAMC also supports a busy research service that is integrated with the University of Maryland School of Medicine. The associated University of Maryland School of Medicine faculty rank is expected to be at the Assistant Professor or higher level; however, final rank will be dependent upon selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. Successful candidates must have strong evidence of clinical training, demonstrated experience in administration research and education, and be board certified in Infectious Disease. The selected candidate will also have an established record of research productivity, as well as a proven record of past and current grant funding and scholarly activity.Prior experience at a VA Medical System hospital is preferred.
