OVERVIEW

The primary responsibility of the Packaging & Warehouse Plant Manager is to effectively plan, coordinate, and manage all of the packaging, warehouse, and in certain refineries, bulk operations in a safe, environmentally responsible, quality-focused and financially responsible manner. The Packaging & Warehouse Plant Manager directly supervises the packaging manager and warehouse manager and indirectly supervises the team managers, supervisors, and hourly packaging and warehouse employees.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review daily packaging and warehousing operations with the packaging and warehouse managers with respect to overall efficiency, product requirement, production schedule, shipping schedule and customer service and develop plans to obtain desired results. Review current inventory levels and anticipated customer demand with Logistics to assure adequate order fulfillment.

  • Develop and implement plans to improve performance, drive continuous improvement, and build technical depth and leadership capability. Determine the future state of the department and develop and implement plans that drive towards the future state.

  • Develop and maintain a good working climate by developing a team. Conduct performance evaluations on a timely basis and establish performance goals. Ensure all managers and supervisors are building teams, setting expectations and holding employees accountable.

  • Manage union relationship and grievances with Human Resources.

  • Develop and implement plans to ensure compliance with HSSE and Quality requirements.

    WORK EXPERIENCES

  • 7+ or more years of experience leading a high-speed packaging and distribution operation required.

  • Demonstrated ability to coach, lead, develop and train employees in a team-based environment, and make effective decisions.

  • Experience working in a unionized environment required.

  • Experience working in a CPG or Food Manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Experience leading a large work group of 125+ employees required.

  • Prior continuous improvement experience required.

  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, coach and train employees.

  • Proficient with Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated understanding of sound HSSE practices and experience with quality systems (ISO, SQF, etc.).

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college; or equivalent experience.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

  • Supervises the Packaging and Warehouse Manager, and through them, the team managers, supervisors, and hourly workforce of the department.

    SALARY PAY RANGE: $146,000 - $271,000 plus bonus

    The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.

    Benefits include healthcare (medical, dental, vision, prescription drugs) available the first of the month following 30 days of employment, 401(k) with match, life insurance, AD&D, short-term disability, vacation, holiday and sick time.
