Labcorp Materials Management Specialist in Baltimore, Maryland

We are currently seeking an extraordinary, highly motivated individual to join our team out of Baltimore, Maryland!

The Materials Management Specialist will be responsible for leading materials management for the organization. The specialist will perform the physical allocations and record keeping for the inventory based on organizational needs communicated to the operator. The expectation is that this position will be the SME on inventory related processes and the inventory management system software.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads all aspects of materials management

  • Manages all receipts, inventory transfers, and domestic and international shipping. This includes completion and archiving of all relevant documentation.

  • Ensures procedures are followed and documentation are aligned with quality standards.

  • Monitors and maintains the inventory management and financial system, Oracle PeopleSoft.

  • Management of reagent, consumable, and server inventory by requesting items to be ordered based on minimum values, inventory quantities, verifying quantities against purchase order upon receipt, and unpacking items.

  • Maintain material statuses through physical allocations and proper documentation.

  • Assign product status for all incoming and transferable material.

  • Monitors all released inventory for upcoming expiry and obsolete items.

  • Maintain all inventory control documents in electronic Quality Management System.

  • Leads and supports improvement initiatives for inventory management and distribution.

  • Ensure safety precautions are followed in accordance with lab rules including but not limited to PPE.

  • Perform weekly cycle counts and monthly full inventory counts.

  • Supports new product development by representing materials management on Operations sub-teams and providing materials management-related new product deliverables on time.

  • Acts as SME for audits that address inventory processes.

  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

  • Support laboratory operations as needed.

  • Aliquot bulk reagents and label for R&D use

  • Cross train on related functions as requested.

  • Manage vendor for the storage and disposal of hazardous material both liquid and solid.

  • Collect and maintain business operational data for given responsibilities.

  • Manages refrigerators and freezer temperature requirements and responds to temperature variations on off shift hours as needed.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.

  • 1-2 years relevant experience in inventory control - preferred, within a medical device/pharma environment.

  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)

  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service

  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent federal, state and local standards including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
