BWC Terminals Licensed Boiler Operator in Baltimore, Maryland

Headquartered in Houston, Texas, BWC Terminals is a premier provider of bulk liquid storage and logistics services to refiners, manufacturers, and distributors of bulk liquids in North America. PURPOSE: To ensure operate the boiler and ensure it is functional. To produce product for sale per quality, quantity and formula standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Below is a list of essential duties of this position. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Safely and efficiently operate the boiler per the demands of production. To maintain the boiler and tear down the boiler for inspections. Safely and efficiently mix raw ingredients based on company formulas and established operational procedures. Test all finished products and inbound ingredients to ensure they meet quality standards. Review finished products for formulary and weight accuracy as well as for label and tag accuracy. Load and unload trucks and railcars. Organize, schedule, prepare and set up machines to carryout the production. Use equipment such as tools, forklifts, and the boiler in compliance with manufacturer recommendations, government regulations and company policy. Maintain an accurate inventory of all raw ingredients. Ensure that all equipment is operating correctly. Calibrate equipment and perform routine maintenance as needed. Report equipment safety hazards and malfunctions. Accurately and in compliance with regulations, complete all paperwork. Ensure all activities are handled within company and state/federal policies, practices, regulations, and laws. Keep work area tidy and clean. Attend training seminars and pass required tests for HSE / Operations related criteria. Interact and communicate with clients and co-workers in a professional and appropriate manner and respond to and give feedback in a respectful and positive manner. Maintain confidentiality of all corporate, personnel and research matters. Take the initiative to identify problems, use judgment to find appropriate solutions and follow through on resolving issues in a timely manner. Support team efforts, actively work to generate respect and enthusiasm, cooperate with others, and actively learn from other team members. Report to work on time prepared to perform the duties of the position and willing to perform the duties as workload necessitates. Employee shall comply with applicable regulatory and company health, safety, environmental, and security requirements. Employee is expected to complete required training in a timely manner; perform duties in a safe and environmentally sound manner; and immediately report injuries/illnesses, environmental spills/releases, and any unsafe acts or conditions to supervision in support of continual improvement of the company's health, safety, environmental, and security performance.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/LICENSES:

High school degree or G.E.D.

Current Boiler License issued by the State of Maryland

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform the duties of this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.   • Minimum of two years of boiler experience

  • Ability to maintain a current boiler license

  • Mechanically inclined and ability and skill in using boiler, production equipment and hand/power tools

  • Ability to follow sequential instructions for mixing/batching start-up and shut down

  • Ability to read and complete documents and other paperwork

  • Ability to wear safety equipment, including safety shoes, goggles, gloves, and similar equipment

  • Basic computer skills

  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts to calculate amounts and units of measure

  • Minimum (on the job training acceptable) experience in equipment maintenance

  • Customer service focus

  • Ability to become certified and operate a motor vehicle, forklift, and similar equipment

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers

  • Ability to change duties throughout the day and to work with a variety of individuals

  • Ability to interact with others in a professional and appropriate demeanor and maintain effective working relationships with staff and customers

  • Ability to work independently with general direction from supervisor

  • Capable of reporting to work on time prepared to perform duties of the position and willingness to perform duties as workload necessitates

  • Ability to carry out the duties of this position while helping the company to meet its mission and while adhering to policies, procedures and regulations, especially safety regulations.

While performing the duties of this position, the individual is often exposed to a variety of weather conditions, including rain/snow and heat/cold, noise/vibration, fumes, work near moving mechanical parts, and work in high places and manholes. Frequently the employee is exposed to loud manufacturing noise.

While performing the duties of this position, the individual is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, climb and balance, carry, reach with hands and arms, use hands to finger, handle, feel, and use tools and equipment, enter and exit manholes, and communicate (talk and hear). This position involves standing/walking for up to 100% of the day and climbing/crouching/crawling/stooping/reaching with hands and arms up to 25% of the workday. Frequently the employee is required to push, pull, lift, twist, carry and/or exert force up to 50 pounds. Specific vision ability required is close vision of 20 inches or less and vision ability of greater than 3 feet.
