We currently offer the following position based in Rockville or Baltimore, MD covering Mid-Atlantic strategic accounts, which will be fully remote and require up to 50% travel.

Key Account Manager

Come join a fantastic team! The Key Account Manager (KAM) is the primary relationship manager for assigned accounts on products or services. The role establishes professional relationships within all levels of the assigned accounts, with a focus on reaching key personnel and top tier key opinion leaders. The KAM is responsible for meeting assigned targets for profitable sales volume and margin dollars within the assigned accounts. The KAM works in concert with Product Specialist and Product Support team members to drive business growth across the LMS solutions portfolio within the region. The KAM will report to the Regional Sales Manager.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and drive account strategy for team selling efforts. Expand long term relationships with key account personnel and commercial influencers within the microscopy community to accelerate market share gain

  • Identify selling opportunities across product lines; identify customer gaps and equate to sales opportunity, including prospecting and lead generation

  • Serve as the account’s liaison between customers, internal teams and the business unit (BU) enabling a direct flow of business and technical intelligence to the BU, and presentation of tailored solutions

  • Coordinate with local field marketing account-based marketing activities, trade shows, networking with local governments, associations, and academic institutions; recommend product, pricing, advertising and sales promotion strategies

  • Utilize Leica’s sales tools and processes to effectively communicate and forecast orders and risks to management: Funnel and forecast management, Salesforce management, weekly cadence sales meetings, and quarterly business reviews

YOUR PROFILE

  • Comprehensive capital equipment life science research and/or healthcare market knowledge

  • 5-7 years of large account management experience with a proven track record of high performance

  • Ability to focus on relationships, build trust through expectation setting, and stellar communication. A strong team player who collaborates effectively with cross functional teams with numerous stakeholders

  • Life science or healthcare sales experience or a degree in life sciences, or a related scientific field. MBA with focus in high tech commercial strategy is a plus

  • Sales Management, Project Management, and/or Lean Business Management experience preferred

The base salary range for this role is $125,000 – 140,000 . This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
