The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) and the University of Maryland Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC) is seeking a Senior Program Specialist to provide administrative support for operational functions of the UMB CURE Scholars Program, as well as specialized support for field operations for the CURE Program. The Program Specialist will streamline data management, mass communications, volunteer operations and technical support, and field logistics management across the program. The Program Specialist will also provide additional field and programmatic support to the CURE Program. Essential Functions: /Data Management and Collection/ * Design and implement Apricot database in accordance with CURE programming needs and views. * Coordinates the collection, compilation, and organization of program data metrics in Apricot. * Support the development and implementation of CURE’s e-portfolio system, grade assessment software system, and volunteer engagement tracking and management systems. * Responsible for compiling scholar academic performance data from Baltimore City High Schools beyond partner schools. * Provide task supervision for student employees entering data for CURE’s scholar support team in terms of attendance and grades and other success metrics. * Ensure scholar awards and dissemination activities are being tracked and entered into Apricot. * Administer and collect parental permission for CURE middle and high school field outings via DocuSign and make calls to families as needed. /Communications/ * Establishes and executes effective communication with families, scholars and mentors and builds positive, supportive relationships with CURE Scholars. * Collect and manage content for cure weekly newsletters to families. * Manage to populate CURE social media channels. * Administer CURE’s Remind App notification system. * Work with CURE’s Program Management Specialist for Communications and Administration to execute a campaign calendar for CURE awareness events (annual heart walk, mental health awareness week, National STEM Day, anniversary events). * Attend CURE monthly marketing meetings. /Administration/ * Consults with the UMB CURE Scholars Program leadership to develop policies, procedures, and appropriate classroom management techniques. * Assist with writing grant applications for funding opportunities. * Disseminate baseline and follow-up surveys from scholars, track and maintain IRB protocols in coordination with the Principal Investigators, and preparing summary reports as necessary. * Assist the Office of Philanthropy with occasional grant routing processes. * May supervise college student employees and summer YouthWorks employees as needed. * Support CURE special events on Saturdays along with other team members. /Field Operations Support/ * Establishes channels, in partnership with CURE Program Managers and instructors, to procure materials and services, including but not limited to transportation, supplies and meals, required for CURE middle school and high school curriculum and tracks associated costs and budget. * Work on-site with CURE’s Director of Programs and STEM Curriculum, the CURE Connections Program Manager, and student employees to ensure that supplies are on site and distributed for instructors on Saturdays. Provide classroom materials support for instructors as needed. * Organizes, in partnership with CURE’s Director of Programs and STEM Curriculum, logistics for week-day STEM-related field trips including off-site programming, and extracurricular activities for CURE * Attend CURE field outings (including Saturday outings). Provide supervision of scholars during programming and related activities. * Serve as an on-site support for high school summer programs. /Perform other duties as assigned./ Education:Bachelor's degree. Experience:Three (3) years of administrative or program coordination experience. Supervisory Experience:One (1) year in work coordination, training, and daily oversight of staff, students, or volunteers preferred. Other:Related experience to program may be substituted for education. Ability to prepare financial statements and budgets. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of position requirements. Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Ability to work cooperatively with others and independently.
