Grant Thornton LLP Change Management Managing Director (Strategic Transformation Office / Internal Client Services) in Baltimore, Maryland
Grant Thornton is seeking a Change Management Managing Director to join our Strategic Transformation Office (STO) under the Office of the COO. This role will be part of our Internal Client Services team.
The STO will focus on key firm initiatives with significant investment, impact on client service, and/or regulatory risk; and will facilitate sustained adoption through robust and integrated program and change management.
The candidate will act as a change consultant to the firm’s senior leadership team and oversee a team of human change experts who will deployed on specific initiatives. The candidate will have expertise in leading large change programs and be able to work with and influence diverse stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with STO and firm leaders to understand business imperatives and identify change implications
Develop an overall change management strategy and plan for large transformational initiatives
Act as a change consultant to the firm’s senior leadership, and enable them to effectively sponsor and drive change
Oversee a team of change experts deployed on specific initiatives, who will:
Work with project sponsors and the lead program manager to understand business goals and project charter
Conduct stakeholder analyses and change readiness assessments and develop a change strategy
Develop a detailed change management, communication, and training plan that dovetails into overall project plans
Communicate progress regularly to leadership team and key stakeholders
Collaborate with Communications, Learning & Organizational Effectiveness, People & Community, and Technology teams to drive change
Build relationships and influence with project team members and key stakeholders across levels
Manage, develop, train, coach and mentor staff on projects and assess performance for engagement and year-end reviews
Other duties as assigned
13+ years of related work experience, ideally including experience in the professional services / public accounting industry
Bachelor’s degree required; preferred degree in the field of Industrial / Organization Psychology, Psychology or Organizational Effectiveness
Change management certification such as PROSCI preferred
Experience driving large transformation and change programs across a large organization
Experience in stakeholder analysis and engagement, culture assessment, communications planning/execution, training planning/execution, or other related areas
Experience managing teams
Excellent verbal, written and virtual communication skills
Ability to work with and influence diverse stakeholders across organizational levels
Ability to work additional hours and undertake some travel as needed
