The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) Police Force is seeking a Supply/Fleet Evidence Control Officer to provide essential quartermaster support. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for maintaining accurate records, ensuring proper handling of evidence and property, and managing fleet and inventory systems while upholding the highest standards of confidentiality and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain fleet records, including accident logs, maintenance schedules, mileage tracking, and preventive maintenance (PMF) documentation.

  • Track, receive, inventory, distribute, and log quartermaster supplies and equipment.

  • Handle evidence and property management, including check-in, check-out, pickup, transport to the Maryland State Police (MSP), and proper disposal or return of items.

  • Ensure adequate stock of evidence supplies and coordinate reordering as needed.

  • Professionally respond to phone inquiries from the public, court personnel, law enforcement agencies, and internal/external MTA and MTAPF personnel.

  • Perform other administrative and operational duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Three years of experience performing administrative staff, clerical, clerical technical, or professional work. *Two (2) years of experience in inventory management, fleet operations, law enforcement property/evidence control, or logistics. This experience must include maintaining records, handling confidential materials, and working with inventory or fleet tracking systems. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and database management software is required.

Notes:

  1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year of the required experience.

  2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
