Bad Axe Animal Clinic, Inc. Veterinarian in Bad Axe, Michigan
The Bad Axe Animal Clinic is a small veterinarian practice established in 1971 in Bad Axe, Michigan, serving mainly canine and feline patients. We are seeking a full-time veterinarian to provide small animal services in our community. The highly trained support staff offer a family-like working environment, with a low turnover rate. The surgical suite and examination rooms were remodeled in 2016 and offer top-of-the-line Idexx equipment, including Procyte, Catalyst, Sedivue, and Snapshot readers. A new digital X-ray machine and Cornerstone software allow for the practice to run smoothly and efficiently.
Bad Axe is located in the heart of the thumb and is a great place to live and work. It is a close-knit community with small-town values. Duties:
Examine animals and diagnose their health problems - Perform surgeries, such as spaying and neutering, and dental procedures
Prescribe medication and administer vaccinations - Advise pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and behavior
Conduct laboratory tests, such as blood work and urinalysis - Collaborate with veterinary technicians and other staff members to provide comprehensive care for animals - Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
Stay up-to-date with advancements in veterinary medicine
Qualifications:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school
State licensure to practice veterinary medicine
Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and diseases
Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Effective communication skills to interact with pet owners and staff members
Compassion and empathy towards animals and their owners
Ability to handle stressful situations with composure
Orthopedic experience preferred, not required.
Part-time services would be considered with the right qualifications and experience.
