Community State Bank, a growing local, Community bank, is expanding to Fort Wayne, Indiana! We are seeking an experiencedFull-Time Mortgage Loan Originatorto join our team of lending professionals in our new Fort Wayne Branch (opening soon!). Successful candidates will have at least 3-5 years of mortgage loan origination experience with a demonstrated ability to consistently achieve new primary residential loan production of approximately $10 million annually. Client leads will come partially from internal referrals and primarily from outside sales leads that are self-generated.

Position Purpose:The Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) is responsible for originating residential real estate loans, both from referral sources and self-generated leads. This is an outside sales position, expected to be out in the community generating leads, promoting Community State Bank, and addressing identified community financial needs by providing home loan counseling, real estate agent seminars, and other mortgage sales-oriented meetings.
Job Requirements Education:A 4-year degree in a Business-related field is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a 4-year degree.
Experience:A minimum of three to five (3-5) years of recent bank mortgage lending experience required. Familiarity with mortgage loan documents and processing required. Sales experience required. NMLS licensure required.
Skills:Effective organizational and time management skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; analytical thinking skills; ability to type at least 50 wpm; proficiency with Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook; fluency in the English language; attention to detail; ability to travel frequently to client and various bank locations.

General Job Duties
- Solicit residential mortgage loans within market areas.
- Personally interview all loan applicants and inform prospective loan clients of CSBs underwriting guidelines and applicable government regulations.
- Complete each loan application and all pre-processing functions accurately and efficiently.
- Evaluate client needs and recommend the best products to meet their needs.
- Collect and review necessary financial documents from applicants.
- Work with processing team to ensure timely ordering of appraisals, credit reports, appropriate background, or other information as needed.
- Provide regular and consistent updates to applicants throughout the mortgage process.
- Communicate complex approvals and denials to the borrowers, real estate agents, builders, or others with a business need-to-know as necessary.
- Distribute market data, rate flyers, and general loan information to the real estate community as directed by management.
- Promote and participate in the Banks special credit programs and other CRA programs.
- Meet loan production and revenue goals.
- Actively participate in local business and community activities and maintain close contact with local builders, real estate agents, customers, and prospects.
- Be knowledgeable in all bank products and services and cross-sell other bank products to meet client needs.
- Give sales presentations to Ba k staff, Bank clients, networking groups, Realtor/builder offices, and conduct mortgage seminars.
- Partner with other business lines for client sales calls when appropriate.
- Assist in other regions/locations when needed.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Compliance/Other Expectations
- Be fully trained and knowledgeable in all compliance related areas of CSB including, but not limited to: BSA, OFAC, Reg Z, Reg P, CIP, CRA, etc.
- Deliver loans in compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain familiarity with new legislation and regulations that may affect residential lending policies and/or products and implement appropriate changes to ensure compliance.
