WHO YOU ARE: You are a motivated Human Resources (HR) manager with experience leading a high performing HR resources team. You have knowledge and experience in HR best practices, and Texas state agency HR rules, regulation, policies, and procedures. You have experience and a desire with developing and implementing plans to attract the best applicants to our positions. You are excited and ready to provide the best HR support to the hundreds of team members across the division and their leadership.

WHAT YOU WILL DO: The UI Human Resources Manager performs advanced (senior-level) staff services work. Work involves planning, directing, and overseeing several staff services functions such as human resources, accounting, budgeting, purchasing, training, payroll, records management, and property management. Will supervise the work of others. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO: - Lead our Unemployment Insurance (UI) Human Resources team. - Provide HR support to hundreds of team members across the division and their leadership. - Lead and support efforts to attract qualified applicants and retain existing team members. - Work with department leadership to educate, inform, and support HR best practices and activities across the division. - Perform other duties as assigned.

YOU ARE A GREAT FIT WITH: - Knowledge and experience with human resource management practices. - Knowledge and experience supervising human resources staff. -Knowledge and experience with attracting and recruiting applicants. - Knowledge and experience in handling disciplinary actions, grievances, or complaint resolutions. - Knowledge of state agencies rules, regulation, policies, and procedures.

YOU QUALIFY WITH: -Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in human resources, public or business administration, or a related field plus two years of full-time experience in business management, human resources administration, budget preparation or control, or a related staff services function. -One year of full-time qualifying experience may be substituted for each year (30 semester hours) of education.
