Organize and direct subordinate staff. Develop and communicate performance metrics. Attend meetings, internal and external to the university.Plan, coordinate, and evaluate training and be willing to teach a diverse group of employees. Assess training needs, develop, write, review, present and document various training, communications, and staff development programs for a diverse staff. Will occasionally be required to work varying shifts: day, evening, weekends and in excess of eight hours on occasion.Plan, coordinate, and direct quality assurance program designed to ensure cleaning services consistent with established standards. Interpret quality assurance philosophy to key personnel. Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities. Keep management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.Gather information to evaluate current work processes in order to determine the flow of work, time requirements, costs, and duration. Develop strategies and programs that improve the productivity and efficiency of department work processes. Aid employee teams in building cohesiveness and improving the overall results of the respective teams' tasks.Ensure maintenance of training records for the department. Edit and publish information such as (but not limited to) presentations, training schedules, trainer and classroom utilization, newsletters, handouts, reports, and operating procedures as required. Coordinate training with other University of Texas organizations and departments.Train instructors, inspectors, analysts, and supervisory staff in areas such as New Employee Orientation, on-the-job training, cleaning process issues, Custodial Services policies and practices, etc. Coordinate the department's training related travel.Required qualificationsBachelor's Degree. Relevant supervisory experience. Experience training frontline employees. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills. Work effectively in teams and as an individual contributor. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively. Professional demeanor. Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.Preferred qualificationsBachelor's Degree in related field. More than five years supervisory experience in a large facilities or production organization. Management of a training organization composed of multiple trainers. Professional certification in training or training management. Experience in the OS1 Cleaning Program and familiar with work loading and process compliance. Project management proficiency. Quality assurance experience. Demonstrated experience in training a diverse workforce. Proficiency in multiple languages such as English, Spanish, ASL, French, Swahili, Kinyarwanda and Vietnamese.Driving RequiredThis job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three-year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.
