Adult Education and Employee Development: Coordinate ESL (English as a Second Language), Conversational Spanish, and Digital Literacy classes. Develop class schedule for each semester, in partnership with instructors (Texas Global and Austin Community College). Confirm pricing, request funding approval, and follow appropriate purchasing procedures to arrange the instructors services. Identify opportunities and work with instructors to customize class content to meet business needs. Recruit participants and ensure they meet qualifications, have supervisor approval, and are available at the time of the class that best meets their skill level. Track attendance and communicate expectations to participants and supervisors. Attend classes to support participants and instructors. Employee Engagement and Culture: Support the Senior Employee Engagement Specialist in the planning and execution of initiatives that drive employee engagement and cultivate a positive workplace culture. Establish working relationships with employees at all levels and in all units, seeking to understand current and future needs related to employee engagement, with a focus on wellness and adult education. Serve as an active member of the UHD CARE Committee to support community-building, employee appreciation, recognition programs, and department-wide events. Facilitate parts of New Employee Orientation and Supervisor Orientation sessions. Participate in action planning and identify innovative solutions to support the Change Starts With Us campus initiative and campus strategic plan. Help to transmit organizational culture to UHD staff through intentional experiences that enable employees to understand and embrace the concepts and expectations.Coordinate UHD Wellness Program: Plan and execute regular programming that connects UHD employees to the eight pillars of UHD Wellness. Create experiences that are welcoming and accessible, and that meet a variety of wellness interests and needs. Pursue opportunities to work with campus partners, including Healthpoint/EAP, UHD Nutrition, UTHealth Austin, UFCU and others, to bring innovative content and engaging activities.Scheduling and logistics: Point person for NEO, Supervisor Orientation, Adult Ed and Wellness. Support for other EDE trainings and events. Prepare supplies and materials, load and unload wagons and vehicles, ensuring all required materials and equipment are ready according to checklists; setup and breakdown rooms. Schedule sessions; reserve vehicles, book rooms and communicate setup and A/V needs to the appropriate UHD stakeholders; arrange catering and refreshments. Administrative and miscellaneous: Create events, sessions and curricula in UTLearn. Assign courses using the Learning Assignment Tool; upload rosters and update transcripts. Track attendance and take photographs at trainings and events. Translate materials into Spanish as skills allow. Maintain inventory and organization of EDE resources including prizes/giveaways, snacks, supplies, and polos. Provide administrative support for CliftonStrengths at UHD. Support the HR team as a backup during peak periods; provide customer service to employees/visitors. Other related duties as assigned.
