MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Three (3) years of related experience with Integrated Pest Management practices and procedures is required.

Incumbent must have a current certified applicators license in pest control.

A valid Texas Drivers License is required and must be in possession at all times when operating an AISD vehicle. Incumbent may be required to work hours in addition to their normal 8-hour duty day. Incumbent may also be required to work on an on call basis.

On call time will not require working on premises, but simply being available on short notice if the need arises.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires incumbent to have thorough knowledge of pesticides and associated laws that regulate the use of pesticides. Incumbent must have thorough knowledge of buildings, building materials and building construction, as well as the ability to perform multiple projects and maintain accurate records.

Incumbent must be able to read labels, laws, and regulations to determine if a safety hazard exists and requires immediate attention.

This position requires the ability to operate a computer.

JOB PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY:

This position is responsible for application of pest and weed control products to ensure all chemicals are dispensed in a correct manner, in compliance with Federal, State, and Local environmental safety laws, regulations, and ordinances.

Incumbent prepares and maintains records to insure compliance with Local, State and Federal Integrated Pest Management and General Pest Control rules and regulations. Incumbent must have current Texas Operators Drivers License in possession at all times while operating Austin ISD vehicles.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Conduct application of pesticides of all Austin ISD facilities.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Develop and maintains accurate records of Pest Control Activities.

Conduct facility inspections.

Keep vehicle, equipment, and tools in safe operating condition. Inspect tools and equipment for safety and efficiency and perform preventive maintenance as needed.

Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing. Operate tools and equipment according to prescribed safety procedures.

Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.

Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Communicate verbally and in writing to supervisor and fac lity administrators.

Provide an exceptional customer experience for all AISD stakeholders with intentional and professional practices that promote a culture of respect and focus on achieving equitable outcomes.
