Learns Utilities Plumber skills by installing, maintaining, operating, and repairing Mechanical Distribution systems including water mains, sewer mains, natural gas piping, water meters and pumps.Use tools and equipment to perform the duties of the trade assignments as outlined in the Utilities Plumber job description.Follow all University and UEM safety policies and procedures, take required safety training, and identify and report safety hazards. Perform work tasks in a safe manner, wear the proper personal protective equipment, and report near misses and incidents. Abide by Utilities and Energy Management's set of core values: Safety, Respect, Integrity, Reliability, Teamwork, and Excellence. Informs appropriate personnel of unusual conditions, problems, or deficiencies as related to equipment and corrects as necessary.Carry and respond to calls on a UT-provided cell phone during work hours and on-call hours. Drive a UT vehicle. Maintain acceptable driving record as required by UT System Policy UTS157Perform other related functions as assigned. Perform work in accordance with industry-standard trade practices to ensure conformity to standards, quality and quantity as determined by journey- level employee or supervisor inspection. Attend staff meetings, safety training and meetings.
