Robert Half Tax Manager in Austin, Texas

Description

We are in search of a Tax Manager to join our team in Austin. The role involves overseeing tax compliance and planning, audit support, research and analysis, process improvement, and team collaboration in the public sector. This role offers an exciting opportunity for those with a strong understanding of corporate taxation and a passion for driving efficiency and accuracy in tax compliance and reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns (income, sales/use, property, etc.) in line with federal, state, and local tax regulations

• Provide guidance on tax implications and opportunities related to business transactions and initiatives

• Assist with tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities, ensuring all documentation is accurate and readily available

• Stay updated on changes to tax laws and regulations, conduct research, and provide recommendations to minimize tax liabilities

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in tax compliance and reporting

• Work closely with finance and accounting teams to provide tax-related guidance and support

• Use various accounting software systems to manage and analyze financial data

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards

• Manage entity formation and income tax accounting tasks

• Use your knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to optimize business operations.

Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems.

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services.

• Expertise in using CCH ProSystem Fx and CCH Sales Tax.

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning.

• Profound knowledge of Accounting Functions.

• Experience in Auditing.

• Understanding of Compliance procedures.

• Experience in Entity Formation.

• Proficiency in Income Tax Accounting.

• Able to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Excellent problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

• Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
