Charles Schwab Sr Specialist, Software Development & Engineering in Austin, Texas

The Enhanced Client Verification Team is looking for a Sr Specialist Java Developer to work within an Agile Scrum Team to enhance Java based web services and to support business critical internal integration projects. The role will require a strong work ethic, problem solving skills and the ability to partner with business and technologists across the organization. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successfully building and supporting enterprise web applications. The role will require a high level of responsibility and accountability yet has a support structure necessary for development growth.

In this role you will:

  • Write well designed, testable, efficient code using Springboot framework.

  • Participate in various cross-domain integration activities.

  • Analyze and investigate problems with software solutions that have been reported by clients and document the results of their investigation(s).

  • Develop software based on the technical specifications.

  • Ddevelop scripts to automate application deployments.

  • Perform maintenance of software and correct defects that have been identified during the maintenance process.

  • Run unit tests on software they create, implement test plans and document test results.

  • Investigate and suggest solutions to defects and problems with software solutions that have been detected during testing.

  • Update and patch software to ensure compliance with security requirements.

  • Master’s degree

  • Kakfa Messaging Platform

  • Launchdarkly

  • React JS

  • Integrations with ThreatMetrix

  • Integration with LexisNexis

  • Proficient with Mongo and SQL Server Databases

  • Veracode

  • Splunk

  • CI/CD - Using git hub & Harness

  • RRBUS Integration

  • Java 17

  • OAuth, Discovery Client & Endpoint Security libraries

  • PCF, Cloud Native Platform

  • Proficient with TDD practices and writing integration tests in Cucumber

  • Experience with REST Web APIs or Messaging-based systems

  • Experience in an Agile tools and methodologies and tools (JIRA)

  • Experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment methodologies, including test automation and metrics

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Strong sense of ownership, and self-motivated with a passion for resolving technical problems

  • Good communication and collaboration skills across team boundaries

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
