Job Description

Location: Austin, TX (Preferably sit in Austin but can be in Dallas/Fort Worth, San Antonio)

Salary: $180,000 - $200,000 per year

Overview:

Insight Global is searching for a Senior Project Manager (Program manager) to play a key role in leading public works and water resources projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to guide a talented team in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, manage stormwater quality, and drive business development initiatives. The successful candidate will have ample career growth and advancement potential within the company.

Key Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Spend approximately half of your time on business development activities and the other half on modeling, including guiding and mentoring team members to perform complex modeling.

  • Collaborate with local governments, engineers, and the public to update criteria for property, infrastructure, and water quality protection.

  • Lead multi-discipline teams working on complex projects and cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders to identify opportunities for business growth.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Spend approximately 50% of the time on business development and the other 50% on modeling and guiding the modeling team.

  • Communicate with clients and write grants to fund projects, including identifying funding sources such as the Texas Water Development Board, General Land Office, GLO, FEMA funds, federal dollars, and block grants.

  • Mentor and lead team members in complex modeling, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, flood risk reduction, stormwater quality management, and flood mitigation planning.

  • Prepare watershed ordinance and drainage criteria manuals, collaborating with local governments, engineers, and the public.

  • Lead multi-discipline teams on complex projects and cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders to identify opportunities for business growth.

  • Manage teams of various sizes and have the foresight to expand the team to 30 within the next three years.

Skills and Requirements

  • 10+ years' experience in public works, stream stability, storm bank protection, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, stormwater quality management, and water resources planning.

  • An Engineering degree (Masters or Bachelors)

  • Demonstrated expertise in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling on scales from large river basins to small sites.

  • Stream stabilization/restoration: Implement natural channel design approaches to address eroded banks and safeguard infrastructure

  • In-depth knowledge and proficiency in relevant software, including HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, EPA-SWMM (2D), Bentley StormCAD, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Civil3D, MicroStation, and 2D modeling. - Experience in stream stabilization/restoration and familiarity with the Texas Coastal Resiliency Master Plan.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in the state of Texas or the ability to obtain it within six months from the start date.

  • Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) License. null
