Position Title:Sr. Product Development Engineer

Work Location: Austin, TX

Job Duties:Develop and/or test electrical/electronic components and/or systems for semiconductor products. Design, develop, and/or manage activities for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production, release and end of life. Serve as the central resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality, and marketing as the product(s) move to production and distribution. Involvement lasts throughout all stages of a product's lifestyle including modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line. Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Under limited supervision, exercise judgment within defined company procedures and practices to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.

Position requires experience in the following: 1. Hardware verification; 2. Logic and circuit design; 3. Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL; 4. Design flows and methodologies used for chip verification; 5. Product development cycles; 6. Unix or Linux environments; 7. C, C++, or Python; 8. Performing Data Analysis and Failure Analysis; and 9. Conducting Test Hardware Engineering or Product Engineering. Experience may be gained through university-level coursework, research, or internship experience. Skills may be gained concurrently.
