Charles Schwab Sr Manager, Software Development & Engineering Lead in Austin, Texas

Duties : Interprets business requirements / strategies for assigned groups; articulates capabilities, problem statements and gaps to appropriate audiences. Continually evaluates technology effectiveness/data interoperability of complex systems; influences vendor roadmap and direction of products. Leads large complex projects and initiatives. Assists in presenting proposed future state and strategy/roadmaps to business/ IT/industry leaders. Raises the bar and drives others to deliver high-quality products and services; recommends new standards of excellence. Partner with multiple support teams to develop common tools and guidance and drive adoption of key reliability engineering practices in support of large-scale and mission-critical services. Evangelize SRE mindset and practices across Core Technology Solutions organization. Partner with support, development, and business stakeholders to develop, measure, and leverage service level objectives. Identify opportunities and build solutions to eliminate toil and manual effort from day-to-day support responsibilities. Implement improvements to logging, metrics, and tracing telemetry and triaging capabilities across a diverse technology stack. Lead triage and postmortem activities for critical issues and drive prioritization/resolution of remediation items. Perform chaos engineering experiments to improve application resilience to known and unknown failures. Document reliability guidance and best practices

Starting compensation for this location depends on related experience. Annual bonus opportunity and other eligible earnings are not included in the range(s) above. We offer a competitive benefits package, see below for details.

Job Location: Austin, TX

Salary: $154,050 to $246,800

What you have

Job Requirements : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or a related field and 84 months of progressive, post-Bachelor’s experience in a related occupation; or a Master's degree and 60 months of experience. Experience must include the following: Develop software, applications, and web-services using Java and .NET; Implement and configure monitoring for .NET and Java based applications using AppDynamics and Splunk; Troubleshoot application interaction with Oracle, MSSQL Server, DB2, Aerospike, MongoDB and Postgres database platforms; Perform automation using PowerShell, JavaScript, Shell Script, Python, Salt, and Ansible; Perform CI/CD pipeline development, maintenance, and version control using Jenkins, Bamboo, Github, and Bitbucket; Web and application server maintenance using IIS, IBM Websphere and Tomcat; and Application deployment and management using Docker, Kubernetes, and Pivotal Cloud Foundry.
