Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Austin, Texas

Description We are looking for a Sr. Accountant to join our team in Austin, Texas. This role involves leading the closing procedures, maintaining the general ledger, collaborating with external auditors, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, identifying opportunities for process improvement, collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing multiple projects, and providing guidance to the accounting staff.

Responsibilities:

• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial reporting.

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure their accuracy and completeness.

• Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit process, ensuring compliance and providing necessary documentation.

• Stay abreast of changes in accounting regulations and ensure the company's financial practices comply with relevant laws and regulations.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and efficiency enhancements within the finance function.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, providing financial insights and support for decision-making.

• Maintain a track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously while continuing to meet routine deadlines.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to accounting staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.

• Utilize skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, and Microsoft Excel to perform job duties effectively.

• Ensure the accurate and efficient processing of month-end close procedures. Requirements

• Candidate must possess a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a similar role as a Senior Accountant.

• Proficient in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations.

• Extensive experience in managing General Ledger and Journal Entries.

• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel are mandatory for data manipulation and financial analysis.

• Experience in Month End Close process is required.

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is necessary.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or progress towards obtaining it is preferred.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interaction with various departments.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.

• High attention to detail and accuracy in all work.

• Knowledge of accounting software and systems is beneficial.
