Job/Position DescriptionThe Special Projects Coordinator (Program Specialist VII) works under the direction of the Director of Data Analytics and Special Projects in the Community Health Improvement (CHI) Division. The position performs highly advanced (senior level) consultative services and technical assistance work in the areas of inter- and intra-agency program coordination for CHI and oversees special projects using a public health prevention framework. Conducts specialized research projects, studies, and analysis, including needs assessment and surveillance, healthimpact assessment, and economic evaluation. Provides guidance to staff in the development and integration of new methods and procedures, including data collection, management, analysis, and reporting methodologies. Oversees the completion of strategic planning documents, including state plans and legislative and executive briefs for special projects. Performs complex strategic planning work related to planning, oversight, and coordination of legislative and executive requests for information and reports on CHI special projects. Coordinates with CHI program staff to ensure performance measure needs and processes, gathering, tracking, and reporting performance data. Trains, leads, assigns and/or prioritizes the work of others. Works under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. To perform these job duties, this position may require working the extra hours needed to meet defined deadlines and support the agencyand#146;s mission critical reporting requirements.Essential Job FunctionsEJF 1. Consultative services and technical assistance. Provides senior-level consultative services and technical assistance to the agency leadership in the areas of inter- and intra-agency program coordination for CHI. Oversees special projects using a public health prevention framework. Manages and oversees high-profile projects and assignments related to maternal and child health, behavioral health, chronic disease, and other public health special projects, including quarterly reports for the Legislative Budget Board (LBB). Evaluates projects and gives guidance in the development, coordination, and implementation, and resolves related operational problems. Provides consultation and technical support to establish targets, objectives, and performance measures to monitor the progress and schedule of projects. (30)EJF 2. Research, analysis, and reporting. Conducts specialized research projects, studies, and analysis, including needs assessment and surveillance, health impact assessment, and economic evaluation.Provides guidance to staff in the development and integration of new methods and procedures, including data collection, management, analysis and reporting methodologies. Oversees surveys and reviews components to ensure that questions meet program requirements for data compilation and information gathering. Develops and coordinates briefing documents, infographics, presentations, and other correspondence, describing results of research and data analysis for internal and external stakeholders. (30)EJF 3.
