Amazon Web Services (AWS) is hiring a Solutions Architect to drive adoption of AWS within the aerospace industry. Segments include launch services, human spaceflight, robotic/autonomous systems, mission control center operations, space stations, satellite constellations, ground segment (virtualized ground stations, earth stations, teleports), emergency response services, IoT, geospatial, imagery, broadcast communications, and various government capabilities. This is an exciting opportunity to help define a growing and thriving part of our business!

Your broad responsibilities will include: owning the technical engagement with Aerospace and Satellite Solutions' customers/partners; supporting the development of technical blueprints, architectures, and quick start templates to help accelerate solution development; enabling prototype and pilot project development in concert with business development discussions; coordinating new service/product feature requests with AWS product teams; and assisting technically in projects owned by customers/partners.

Key job responsibilities

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide the architectural guidance and recommendations necessary to promote successful customer/partner engagements,

  • Ideate new managed services streams and unique solutions that position AWS as their cloud provider,

  • Assist solution providers with technical strategies that will enable them to sell more of their offering on the AWS platform,

  • Build proof-of-concepts, execution of POCs, solution development (testing, documentation, training), and device certification (if required)

  • Write reference architectures and configuration guides; develop courses, and trainings,

  • Capture and share best-practice knowledge with our broader Solution Architect community,

  • Share partner and customer feedback to internal product management and engineering teams to help drive the future of AWS,

  • Capture and share best-practice knowledge for deploying, running, and managing solutions on AWS with AWS communities.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience

  • 2+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries

  • Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud

  • Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective

  • 5+ years of Information Technology (IT) experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $204,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
